Fakanál Restaurant with its cosy and homely atmosphere is situated in Budapest Market Hall, which is one of the most tarnished buildings in the Hungarian capital. One can find the panoramic, Hungarian restaurant on the gallery of the Market, above the main entrance. It can be divided into two units: one of them is the inner restaurant part and the other is the gallery. Both places command an amazing view on Budapest Market Hall.
Our daily offer is complemented with the possibility of transactions of weddings, banquets, corporate celebrations, birthdays, opening ceremonies, press conferences. The inner hall is very cosy with wooden furniture and a rustic bourgeois stove in the middle. It is capable of admitting 120 people in case of a seated reception and 180 people in case of a standing reception. The covered gallery outside is separated with a glass wall and it gives room for a seated event with 60 guests.

If you are to organize an exclusive event with only your very own guests using the whole restaurant, it can give room to 180 people having a seated meal. The popularity of our restaurant is not only due to its wonderful meals but also its various programs. The program called “Gluttonize in the larder of Budapest” was launched last year and it became very popular immediately that is why it was expanded with other events this year: you can take part in a Cooking Course, a so-called Morning Feast and Market Hall Pecking. These programs are exclusively sold by Bridge-Tours Ltd.

The essence of the base program is that the tourists get to know the shopping customs of Hungarian housewives and the offers of mongers and vendors. Following it, in the restaurant with an area of 450 square metres they taste everything that is made of the food offered at the market; so they get a foretaste of the daily meals of Hungarian homes. To create a perfect gastronomic experience the restaurant staff thoroughly select the elements of the scenery and the atmosphere as well. When arriving the guests are greeted with some music of Hungarian composers or with the works of foreign composers with Hungarian topics.

Monday to Friday 10:00 – 17.00
Saturday: 10:00 – 15.00
